Really High Miler

While parousing the U.S site today someone pointed out a '96 LS400 for sale on eBay. It only had 900,000 miles on the clock. Yes, 900K. And I got the impression it's on its original engine / transmission. Just nicely run-in by now I suppose.. The bodywork still looked in good shape too, with no rust being a Florida car. Someone has already bid $1075 for it so far. At 122k mine's almost new compared to that!

Pretty good, but I recall a few years ago coming across some chap in US Mid West who had Volvo P40 heading towards 2million miles. ( I think he did a regular Kansas City to Houston run - or something like that)

So any well built and well cared for car should have no problem achieving high miles. Mind you in the bad old days when I used to put 80000 on a Vaux Cavalier in one year (got a new one each year), the engine was drinking oil, and more rattles than Mothercare.

Be more interested with the 900K Lexus what state the seats are in, as when I have looked at high mileage Jags, etc, it is the internal state of the car that counts as much.

Drivers seat has been re-covered and car has had respray but it's still a great car for a 900k lexus.

Looks like it is going for a good price considering miles, and amazing given it is in Florida near all that salty sea water.

Just goes to show how good the body work is covered.

I'd like to think an LS could easily compete with a million-mile Blackpool Mondeo taxi. Maybe that's had 4 engines too.
