What Baby Car Seat Do You Use?

Recommended Posts

I have a 5 month old daughter who will soon be progressing to a car seat (not part of the travel system) and wondered what people on here use?

It will go behind my wife's chair but she isn't small at 5 foot 7.

Hey Stu

Mine is due any day and we have the Maxi Cosi Cabrio Fix.

When the baby gets a bit bigger I will be going for a Recaro Monza or one of their seats as they seem excellent, my sister has one and it is great.

Question, which early seat did you go with and did you use the base? I have just the carrier at present and doesn't seem great or secure with just the seatbelt to hold it in place.

Also need to hear your beast soon, the clip sounded amazing!!

A lot folks in the USA have opted for recaro so I thing I may go that way as well. No isofix but not that important as it will be in situe for a long time.

We use a jane rider travel system with an ISO fix base. It allows you to have your baby flat and fixed in as it swivels. Makes it VERY easy to put in and take out.

If you need a car seat in isolation the britax dual fix looks amazing. Can be used from birth to 4 years, you can side load, face forward and backwards.

Thankfully my kids are passed the car seat age! ;)

Remember it was probably one of the harder decisions I had to make! Lol.

Won't teach anyone to suck eggs, but guessing you guys already put a towel or blanket on the seat to protect the leather from scuffs and scrapes? It's also worth taking it out when you don't need it to prevent indents in the seat. Remember looking at a car once that had really nasty wear and marks from a car seat! ;)

They do seem a lot better these days though. :)

I do indeed have a towel inder the seat to protect the leather :)

Having been on the US forum most seem to use Recaro. Done a fair bit of research and the Recaro young sport looks the best one to buy.
