I now know how Seagram feels. The GS300 Sport is riding like a dog now. Every bump is greeted by a loud rattles (basically steadily getting worse by the day). Even on the motorway it's rattling. Not happy now. I may speak to the dealer and try to get a swap for an SE. The condition is mint but the ride is just too hard. Thing is I can take the hard ride but the car is just not handling them well at all. There's also still too many things that wrong that the dealer didn't look at and a few extra that I didn't pick up on. The loud rattle from behind the seat, no lights on the gearstick, brake warning light keeps coming on etc etc. I've got a feeling I bought the wrong car. How sympathetic would the dealer be if I asked to swap it for an SE or even an IS200. Do you think I'm talking crazy ? Help !

how long have you had the car?

would you be entitled to take it back in you are not happy?

Also GS and IS are not the same.. IS is much smaller inside.. you will notice the difference!.. go for the GS SE

Also i think you are getting the new car paranoia! I am suffering with it myself at the moment when really most things are pretty normal. everything is amplified .. so you hear every knock and squeak.

Unless it seriosuly knocks and you have had the car less than 14 days I would take it back

Hi Sorry to hear you unhappy with your sport mate!

I found mine a little on the hard side after the GS-SE but I've got used to it now. I agree they could be a little softer but with those wheels and tyres (which are the main culprits) you don't stand much hope. My mate has a BM* 5 series sport which is much the same. I run the tyres at 30-32 down from the 36 which they were at when delivered and avoid the pot holes.

I went through the same learning curve you going through and was up for trading it for a new RX! I does get better!! :D

Make sure the dealer gets those things sorted and take no nonsense from them. The gear lever indicators shouyld light with the side/headlights, and make them fix those rattles. Stick with it at's a great car!! B)

Lexus approved used cars come with a 30 exchange policy. I guess there needs to be something wrong with the vehicle for them to exchange it, so you need to speak to your dealer.

Is there anybody from LOC near you? Maybe you could take them out in it to get a second opinion.

even though i get really ****** off with the noise the gs sport makes i would not swap or exchange for a se model and an iI.S is out the question.the sport stands out from both of them i bet i would not turn heads in either.my plan is to upgrade to an ls 430 when i have the money in 2 years im hoping i can pick a used model for 25k.

Thanks for the help lads.

I think the dealer in Sheffield need to pick it up and get everything right. They offered to do that last week when I mentioned the brake warning light and some of the things they should have put right in the first place. Then the service guy rang up and said it was the brakes bedding in so I told them I would take it to Stockport (my local dealer) to fix things. However I am being inconvenienced because they don't have a courtesy car until mid September. They said they'd have a quick look tomorrow (4pm - 5.30pm) but they are surely only going to fix the brakes bit and the gear lights.

Perhaps Steve is right and it's just new car paranoia. It certainly looks fantastic.
