I parked at a nearby pub overnight a week ago and walked home. This is a country village in a good area.

Ever since I started smelling petrol when starting up or exiting the car. Local Lexus dealership said it was something to do with injection system re-circulating when cold. As it was happening when hot I tokk it in and requested they look at it. A rather shamefaced Service Manger later informed me that someone had tried to remove the fuel line at the engine end an had almost suceed. He then went on to say that this sort of thing as well catalytic converter stealing is common on the RX, to the extent that if they leave one outside on display overnight they remove the CAT.

Just a word of warning, in the current economical climate these people will steal anything, and even possibly put you at risk.

Is anyone else aware of this danger?

Ironically, the RX is one of the worst cars to steal fuel from - its got a stupidly small tank compared to other big cars :-)

Would be good to see the result if some inept thief stuck a screwdriver into the Battery pack :-D
