Looking for a bit of advice please. Got a '51' IS 200 Sport. ABS light on and TRC light flashing. Put an OBDII code reader on and it returns no codes.

Anyone got any idea what I should look for next?

If a cheapy obd2 code reader won't retrieve the code them it's prob throwing a manufacturer specific code.some garages can read these and obv Toyota and Lexus can.

My money is on an ABS sensor mate. The trc is flashing to tell you that you have no trc. And you have no ABS at the minute while the ABS light is on.

Or there's water in the electrics setting off your dash lights, seen that a few times but it's rare. Does sound more like an ABS sensor.

The cable was damaged chris ive tried an obd2 reader but no codes shows up. It looks like its my mate with his reader to sort out.I also some time ago triggered but changed drivers seat airbag and the light has been on since so kill two birds with one stone as it says.

I have 2 OBDII readers. One Bluetooth unit that communicates to an app on my android phone. Also have a D900 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/370820045080 which gives you the option to choose the vehicle manufacturer before scanning codes. Both find nothing.

Not being very good with this sort of thing, how do I check for a fault ABS sensor? Anyone got any pics of what I am looking for?

Many thanks

According to the maintenance manual/CD you can get it to flash the ABS code to you. You disconnect a short pin in the "Check Connector" under the bonnet, link two others and it will flash ABS light as a code.

Page DI-223 of the Lexus manual/CD.

Never tried it myself.

Note that when I plug in my OBD2 Bluetooth thingy it puts the ABS light on! unplug it and it's fine again. I thought I had a problem until I realised the light only came on when the OBD2 was plugged in. Must be a well dodgy Bluetooth adapter I have...
