I remember driving one of these in 1981, and was okay around town, but motorway driving was more interesting. I distinctly remember driving down the M4, and had the feeling that the car was bobbing from side to side and thinking I was going mad, when I got behind another one and observed it doing the same thing. It was not a windy day and so not sure if it was tramlining or just trying to emulate Japanese driving technique in an earthquake.

Having said that the cabin was much better designed and put together than your average Cortina Mk4, or Cavalier Mk2 of the time.

Had it for a week, and not sad to see it go, but I could see that it signaled a wake up call to British Leyland for sure!
