The 745i is a fantastic bit of kit if I'm honest :). The least compromise between ride and handling that I've seen in a car yet.

As always for a BMW, though, full service history is a must must. Mine has had an engine out job and a gearbox replacement by the time it hit 100k miles :P

1990 - VW Polo, first ever car - 1981 model. Gave it to my brother with 134k miles on it - 6 months later, he swapped it to pay for a night out!!!

1992 - VW Golf GTI (1988 model) - first car I owned or had driven that could accelerate uphill!

1994 - BMW 525i (1989 model) - lovely car. Bought for £6.5k, sold 2 years later for £6.5k !

1996 - Mazda MX6 - a mistake - fast but dull.

1997 - BMW Z3 - first brand new car - lovely but too limited with only 2 seats.

1999 - Lexus IS200, the year it came out - superb car, kept it for 4 years.

Then....aaarrggghhhh, kids!! So...

2003 - Honda Stream - dullsville but 7 seater and could take all the prams and other kids stuff.

2009 - Hyundai Santa Fe, Mk1 - because we bought a caravan and needed something to tow it with.

2011 - Hyundai Santa Fe, Mk2 - an upgrade.

2013 - Lexus RX - best car since my last Lexus and possibly the best of the lot...

Since 1998, I've also had various motorbikes...currently on a Kawasaki Versys. They are what kept me sane during the dull, post-kids cars... :whistling:

lexus is200 (in 4 and half years just had to change 1 bulb, and normal wear and tear things ie brakes, but 1 bulb is astonishing)

audi a4 b6 1.8t limited edition auto, (very boxy but nice drive)

now lexus is300 I think I came back to lexus because of reliability, and looks, from the list above the only other car I had for more than 2 years is the r32 and id prob still have it if that badger knew the green cross code lol,

At the last count since i passed my test i have had 54 different cars. Some lemons like an austin allegro, On the other hand some great one's like MK1 rs turbo and 3 door cosworth. One of the best all rounders was the MK2 Golf GTI 16v.

Now i want comfort the Gs300 we have suits the bill...Still shifts though when you need it to.

Fiat Uno 1.1 <- First car!

Ford Escort XR3i (mk4, '87)

Ford Escort RS Turbo (mk3, '85)

XR3i (same one as before)

RS Turbo (also a mk3, '84)

Escort/Orion 1.6 (mk5a, '94 I think)

Escort Ghia 1.8 (mk6, '98 maybe)

Rover 214 1.4!!! (think this was a '98 too)

IS200 Sport (52 plate)

I do miss my old Escorts. Don't get me wrong - the IS is by far the nicest thing I've owned, and the Escorts aren't a patch on it for comfort, reliability, spec, etc. But I do miss them, and whilst the IS is fun, they were a different kind of fun. The RST's were also a damn sight quicker!

Shoot me down but I still think all the nissans and Hondas I've owned have been more reliable than both my IS200 and IS300, but what can I say, I love the look of the 1st gen IS. :)

I had an IS200 for 4 years and a Honda Stream for 4 years - never had any problem with either of them, so difficult to say which was better :shifty:

Then again, the most serious car problem I ever had was a broken ABS disk on a Hyundai, so possibly the broken rear wiper blade on the Honda (just the rubber bit) should cause it to be labelled 'unreliable' ?

Here are mine (in the order I bought them).

1989 Toyota Corolla 160

1996 Toyota Conquest 160

1999 Toyota Conquest 130

2000 VW Citi Golf 1.4

2002 VW Polo Classic 1.6 (6N)

2005 VW Polo 2.0 (9N3)

1999 Opel Corsa 1.3 (bought this as a second, run-around car)

2011 Kia Cerato 2.0

2006 Ford Bantam 1.3 (bought this as a second, run-around car)

2000 Lexus IS200

I actually bought the IS to be a "weekend car" as I always longed to have one. After a year of using it as my daily driver, I decided to get rid of my primary car (2011 Kia Cerato) as I barely drove it once I got the Lexus. That was just a few weeks ago, so I hope the IS200 serves me well (so far, so good)
