Is200 Sc Nos Or Evo Viii

If one compares the cost of a IS 200 with TTE supercharger and NOS (brake and suspension upgrade).

Will it be as fast as a EVO VIII FQ300

The reason i ask is really based on the costing benefit side.

It's about £2000 to insure an EVO VIII FQ300 and the power of that car is grand.

I know it's not a LEXUS "IS". But it makes me wonder sometimes.

Those who own an IS, surely the car wasn't purchased based on performance and when the overall cost are added in doing the "GO FASTER" modifications together with the extra insurance. Wouldn't it be more beneficial to buy a fast car in the first place

I kept my "IS" and I am currently doing the MOD's as I've got the car, I like the car ...

Just wanted to know other members thoughts on the TUNING side of things..

(although the EVO VIII is just an example, it is ever sooooo lovely)

In my view its horses for courses...With a EVO you will get the maxpower gang hassling you all the time......lovely car tho....

With the IS (well mine which is outwardly normal apart from the exhaust pipe & lower ride height) you can have the best of both worlds.......luxury & power

260 bhp is enough for me.......

I guess part of my choice of the GS ( abig part really) was the power and the smoothness that went with it. While it is now Nozzed up, it retains all of the characteristics it had when purchased a year ago today!

An Evo or equivilent will never meet my high mileage comfort needs. The Lexus is a limo quality ride but having a a few extra ponies on demand is a nice "comfort factor".
