Dating Of Older Tyres

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, remember reading somewhere in a topic forum about recognising the dating symbols on the sides of tyres.

A guy has offered me two brand new wheels with brand new original Dunlop tyres, totally unused.

I'd just like to date them when he brings them round to show me.

I know that elderly tyres might well be past their use by date even if " brand new ".

Can you guide me with those symbols please ?

Thanks.

Malc

Ageing depends very much on how they have been stored, preferably a cool dark place in which case age may not be much of a factor.

Remember advice from the Tyre Industry may not be all it seems. They have a product to sell
