Does anyone know how the 12v sockets on the hybrid work? I sort of assumed it worked off the normal Battery but I'm guessing not now.

At the weekend, I tried to pump up my tyres using an electric pump powered off the 12v socket. I switched the ignition to 'ACC' (what does that mean?) but there didn't seem to be enough power for the pump - it sort of came on but there wasn't enough strength to get air into the tyre. All the other car electrics came on fine (stereo etc).

It was only after I turned the key all the way round (and the engine came on) did I get enough power to work the pump.

It could be that the auxillary Battery has protection to prevent excessive current draw so it still has enough charge to start the hybrid system up.

ACC means Accessory position hence such things as the sound system are powered without the engine running.
