Lhs Headlight Not Moving

Hi All,

i was driving home the other day and noticed my LHS bulb seemed rather bright on the road. at first i thought my RHS bulb had gone. under investigation, the LHS bulb isnt moving when i switch the lever for the level.

i can hear the motor whirring on the RHS and the light moves up and down, but the left is dong nothing.

upon opening the bonnet, i removed the cover to look inside where the headlamp bulbs are, the motor isnt whirring and when switching the lamp level to different numbers, the unit isnt moving.

i did plan on removing the whole headlamp unit to see if the motor had died or something but havent found anything online to assist in the removal.

any ideas to explain what has happened or assist in diagnosing the problem would be gratefully received.
