Low Oil Level Warning

Hi,

Was looking through the owners manual and there appears to be a 'low oil level warning' as well as a 'low oil pressure warning' has anyone had the 'low oil level warning' pop up - I think this for for 220s only.

by the time the light comes on warning you, its too late.. I make it a habit of checking my oil and coolant once every 3-4 weeks when pumping my tyres at gas station.

I do the same checks fortnightly - but according to the owners manual it seems that the 220d has a low oil warning as well as an oil pressure warning. A low oil pressure warning is trouble but a low oil warning isn't.

turn your ignition on without starting and if both warning lights come up for about 3 secs and disappear then they are both functioning if both light don't come up when ignition is turned on then bulbs might be out.

The IS250 does not have oil pressure or oil indicator lights; so nothing to see when you turn the ignition on.

If your oil level is low, the master alarm indicator will flash, and the information display will display an "low engine oil" message.

If the oil pressure is low, the master alarm indicator will flash and the information display will show "low oil pressure".

Unfortunately, even though the messages differ dramatically in their significance, the way lexus have designed the dash makes it very easy to confuse them.

I was surprised that even running the washer fluid low, sets off the alarm chime, flashes the master alarm light and pops up a "washer fluid low" message.
