Suggestions For Paint, Alignment, And Tint Shops?

Hello all,

I've recently moved to the UK and am in need of some help locating some good reliable honest shops to help with the items below. I'm located in the Suffolk region and don't mind driving a little bit if need be. Hopefully the places would have weekend hours since I'd only be available on them. Thank you for the suggestions!

- I have a junction produce grill that the previous owner had painted and id like to repaint it in the chrome color.

(heard RJM Body Repairs in Bury St Edmunds would good through various googling on ther forums)

- Need a laser alignment done since I installed coilovers on the car prior to shipping it. Also on average how much do they run and what's reasonable?

- Good tint shop that won't charge an arm and a leg to remove the old tint and redo it. Also on average how much do they run and what's reasonable

(heard DZ Detailz in Mildnehall does a good job from what I've read on other forums as well, but haven't been able to contact them via email or going to their shop.)

Hi Rick.

If you mean chrome paint, that's a specialist process and can look good though not very durable. There are two types, both involve a lacquer over a shiney surface so it doesn't have much grip and chips very easily. I've done one of the two processes, I do a bit of paint spraying. The better/more chrome-like process is quite like mirror silvering, there are specialist places that do it - not something your jobbing painter does.

Silver paint is another thing, just normal a paint process that any place could do.

Any half-decent place should be able to do a simple thing like a grill pretty well. Though I can imagine some not being overly keen if the prev repaint needs stripping off, wouldn't be much fun...
