hi there

just after a bit of help or if anyone has had the same, just been driving ona smooth fast road and all is well. went down one of the town streets where the road surface is terrible and it was banging and clattering like mad on the uneven road, going between 20 -30 mph, and then on the smoth road all is great and smooth again, it sounded like it was coming from the front but could not be sure, definately the passanger side.

thanks

Mine did when i bought it. It needed anti squeel shrims clips on to hold the pads in place, they were just clattering on the slide pin. sounded awful. not sure if this is your problem

Mine had this problem too. I bit the bullet and spent £80 on the "Fitting Kit" which is the metal clips that hold the pads in place and the wire spring clips. A lot of money for tiny little parts but fixed a huge irritation.

Part number 04947 in this link:

Now, be sure it is the front brakes as the noise cold be from the rear, if it is it's most likely the rear clip missing off the brake pads.

Looks like this. Make sure that is present. If not your brakes will rattle like crazy.

hi guys and thanks for your reply's a bit more info, it passed it M.O.T on friday with no addvisories, so i dont think it could be bushes or anything like that??? i not sure my self, it has both the clips on the back pads that lance posted, so could be the fronts, was just a bit embarssing going down the bumpy roads, clattering about like a shed, i will get my cuz to look at front brakes as he's a mechanic for a big company, thanks for your replys.
