Is It Worth Asking........................

Recommended Posts

I think that I am likely to change my car at some point during the next 12months , I need to get something that will tow my caravan, my current IS isn't quite big enough re the kerbweight. I need something that falls around the 1730kg plus mark.

In the meantime, I am coming to the end of my dealership warranty and I am probably going to renew it but, I am wondering if it is worth asking "Is this your best price"

I still have my service plan in force with the dealership too.

I am wondering if anyone has asked the question and if so did you manage any discount. They are looking for £795 which is almost double what other warranties are going at but, I know the Lexus one is usually a no quibble jobby.

Any thoughts anyone?

If that £795 is for 12 months that's way too much. My ISF warranty is up in a couple of months and got it down to £460, that's with a Lexus one with a main dealer.

I am quoting from the Lexus Extended Warranties booklet that Lexus Exeter gave me. and it definitely says £795.00 for IS vehicles up to 8 years old.

I will have to investigate this further because as I say, other warranties are nowhere near that sort of figure. I would be more than happy with £460.00. Did you have to haggle for that or did they just quote the figure straight off?

I could let you see the price list if it is possible to put a .pdf file into this thread, do you know how to do this?

They did say it was a discounted price. Just looked back through my notes and its plus vat (I get it back through business). Toyota also knocked off £200 off our RAV warranty so it's definately up to the dealer what to charge.

Hi again, which dealership did you use for your warranty?
