I currently own an IS250 SE-L which is unsuitable for towing my caravan and because of this I will need to change my car.

I would like to stick with Lexus because I have been really pleased with my IS but will need to get something with a kerbweight of at least 1730kg and I think that the RX series fits the bill in this regard.

I would like to hear from anyone who drives any of the RX's and who also tows, I'm sure that their experiences will provide me with some useful information for my search for a replacement vehicle.

Many thanks

Just did my first towing trip - 1500 miles to France and back. A great towcar but only 18mpg at motorway speeds (for the hybrid).

Your RX is the sort of thing that I am looking at but am disappointed to hear your mpg figures, that comes in at over £500 for the trip if I'm not mistaken!

well, 300 miles of that was not actual towing and I got about 32mpg then...

My previous 2 litre diesel Santa Fe only got me 22 mpg towing, which would cost over £400 for that mileage. Personally, the RX is easily worth thd £100 saving :-)

Yes I can understand that. I used to have a 220d with extremely good mpg figures, I swapped to the IS250 and obviously get less mpg but the difference is well worth it and so I am with you on that.
