There was a program on one of the Discovery channels recently and they used an LS. They took the engine out as they said it wasn't any good for what they wanted and put a 2 litre in, cant remember the name of the engine. Several LOC members needed counseling after watching it. Mike

I winced at the thought of such a great car facing a not so pleasant ending....like so many Jaguar XJ saloons that were trashed this way and now you see them cherished and restored.

I think its great because there'll be fewer & fewer good LS's left making ours more valueable. Nows the time to do any fixing & fetelling because even the 2nd hand parts are going to increase in price

I think you may be right Jon, I have not seen any LS's in this area since I bought mine and none on a recent trip down to Basingstoke....although when I was going to Swindon every day for 9 days I managed to see two! one was a MK2 on a K plate and the other was a MK3 on a P plate both silver and going in the opposite direction - they did look in good nick mind.....wonder if it was anyone on here??

What an ignominious fate for such a fine piece of engineering as an LS400 -reduced to being a donor-car for banger-racing,plus they can't even use the original engine?

Your right too,-sighting another LS 400 on the roads today,is become a rare occurrence, on a round trip to Scotland recently of 800 miles and two weeks, I saw one,and that was 10 miles from home,on the way back!

I lurk around 10 miles outside of Basingstoke. In over 3 years of owning mine I have only ever seen another 4. Mike
