You don't need the screw cover for it to work, just finishes it off, as you can see in pic leaves a big void.

So is the older flip up 5" the later 7" ? if you got the older one (which seems to be more available) you would have to modify the housing to accommodate a 7" mio or similar

I used the older version and Tbh most of the screen surround was not needed, basically only used the lid and open/close mechanism.

You could do quite easily if needed....just easier if it has it already.

Just out of curiosity, would any 7" SATNAV/tv system fit with this setup? Or is it just the Mio you used just happens to be the right shape/fit?

Yeah I see the difference now, it is a bit of an eyesore without the screw covers.

I see. So you just cut it out? i find plastic quite hard to trim without looking messy. I once tried with my last car to put in a trip computer but it looked so bad i just bought the correct surround for trip... anyway, im just scared to mess with mine incase i mess up

Ill look at yours closer at the meet and get a better idea. Youve been very helpful
