Just spotted this and thought it may interest those members on the lookout for a decent example, it's only a couple of miles from me so if anyone wants me to take a look let me know.

Hi Steve.

I'm very interested having now sold my Mk4 and want to get back into an LS400 . I have been trawling around for ages looking for the right one without success and as you say this looks decent, but for me to travel from Dundee to Alfreton only to be disappointed is silly so if you could drop in and have a once over for me then I would be very grateful. I have e-mailed the seller and have asked for a contact number and could give it to you once I hear back.

I have been trying to work out where the car is located in Alfreton but don't recognise the area.

Believe you me that would not have even come into the mind of many that

list things on eBay. Some think a couple of fuzzy pictures and a dozen

I suppose so Mike....it might be that if they are new to e-bay they don't know how to check for messages, it looks as if the car has been well cared for so worth persevering with for now

Some good news, after showing my "other half" the pictures of the car we came up with where we thought it was located.

I just popped out and lo and behold it is there!

Had a quick walk around it but getting dark but does look nice.

I will call back tomorrow in the daytime and see if I can contact the owner in person.

More like the fear of getting arrested for loitering with intent to view a car in the dark, tooled up with a flashlight Mike :)

OK been round this afternoon and this is an absolutely immaculate,well looked after example owned for the last 18 months by a mature owner.

Fresh MOT with an advisory for a chip in the screen ( repairable) and slight wear in rear bushes ( owner is waiting to hear back from garage exactly what needs doing).

A couple of minute dings on the rear passenger door and above the rear clusters on both sides ( one was caused by a lorry in a car park only 2 days ago)

Interior is like new, slight wear on driver's side bolster only.

The guy has even taken out the driver's side OEM mat to clean it after the MOT tester messed it up.

Good comprehensive history with his mechanic son doing all the servicing.

Under bonnet is spotless.

A long test drive showed it metal with no knocks or clunks it was nice to be a passenger ( owner did ask if I wanted to drive it but why drive yourself when you have a chauffeur.

Ice cold fully working AC.

Tempted myself so if there are no takers I'm in!

Nearly forgot, the reason he is reluctantly selling the LS is he has bought himself a TVR!
