Hi All From A Newbie....... Is 200 Sat Nav Fault

Recommended Posts

Hi All

I have recently purchased a 2003 IS 200 and I am going through the niggles to fettle my car to get it how I want it...... One the sat nav shows unable to read any map disc....I thought it had no disc so my better half got me a new disc .On opening the dvd and being unaware how to operate the unit managed to my surprise to eject a map disc( which looked quite scored) put my new disc in the dvd player but it still reads no map disc .Could some on e please tell me how you eject the disc as I did it by pure fluke. Is it worth putting a cleaner through the unit or just replace it.

Second niggle is the 6 disc changer isnt working it keeps say waiting for disc but never changes and reverts back to radio....is this a usual fault or will this also need replacing.

Any help would be appreciated.

Not sure about CD player but its not unheard of for them to develop issues.

Please try a CD lens cleaner in your map drive and try again. Its a CD with small brushes on and they can be bought from any pound shop

hi with regards the sat nav, there is an eject button(its square)press it and it should eject the disc, that is after sliding the disc slot open, hope this helps,as for the disc you might have the wrong one.

Welcome to the club Colin,

The cd changer is notorious for going wrong, usually shows error3 in display, not always though. Mine acted the same as yours. and it was a stuck disc inside.

The sat nav as Pete and Scudney say could either be wrong disc or simply needs a cleaner running through it.

Regards, Ian.
