Urgent Help And Advice!

I have a 2000 Lexus is 200 has developed problem stuck at 3000 revs an judders wen cruising at certain speed Once it's warmed up!!! had throttle body's looked at and had it plugged in at my local Lexus dealership fault codes were throttle body's and vvt been told roughly £1600 to £2000 to fix wanted to sell the car but don't really want to spend that money!! Quite tempted to strip it out and race it or fix it up wats the best steps forward pay to have it fixed ?? try an find a tuned engine and drop it in or dump it ??? Please help also not the most mechanically minded ;-)

Sorry to hear your having problems, cant help with throttle body but the vvti malfunction is usually down to the oil valve. Its the cylinder with the pipe inbetween the vvti and alternator cover.

You undo bolt and withdraw it, on the end is a mesh filter, give it a clean until mesh is clear...job done.

Alternatively i have a ready cleaned one, good as new.
