Car Data Or Auto User....

A quick heads up, there is a company calling themelves Car Data or Auto User (tel: 01592777800) who are illegally cold calling users selling cars and claiming to work with Autotrader cold calling customers offering free magazines which then advertise a guarenteed sale for appro £80-£100.

I have received a call from them and called Auto Trader to complain about the spam call.

Auto Trader Online are being very helpful and are taking legal action against this company. If you recieve such a call for a vehicle advertised on the auto trader website call Auto Trader and give them your details to add to there list to aid in the legal action against this rogue outfit.

I know it is not normal to advertise a rogue companies number and name on the website but can see no harm in it as leal action is being taken by Auto Trader and when asked if it was a problem to Auto Trader to mention there name etc on this website refering to a warning they said it would be of great help.

A big thanks to Auto Trader for being a company who are actually taking action against companies sponging of there website and cold calling rather than just fobbing it off as a problem out of their control. Now thats what I call customer service....

i got a call from them and sold it within 5 days..............

You must be the first....

I know of about 10 people (including me ) who were sucked into advertising with Car Data. Non of us managed to sell our car through them.

They are a bunch of :tsktsk: . Where do they advetise your car anyway?

Ifraz,i have no idea as to how they sell or advertise the cars?

My car was in the Autotrader for almost 6 weeks(without a sale,or enquiry)

not forgetting it cost me in the region of £140(i think),i got a call from Car Data

willing to sell my car within 2 weeks,they were confident they could.I paid them

approx £80,within 2 days i had enquiries and sold it on the 6th day.

As i said it obviously worked for me(bit like LOC insurance)but not everybody :P

Yep.. Christina got loads of calls from them when she advertised her car...

On the 5th call she gave me the phone, and I told them that their actions amounted to harassment and if they called again I would pursure legal action for compensation...

They didnt call her again.... :)
