Satnav Destination Search By Address

Page 71 of The NS Owner's Manual says:

"There are 2 ways to search a destination by address.

inputting a street name

selecting a town to search"

In what circumstances would you use either of these?

Why do they give you a choice?

I have read and re-read it.

I don't get it.

if it is a common road name it is quicker to input the town first and then the street name, otherwise you have to find it from a long list.

I may be a bit dim and this may be something I am missing but I am a little bit confused by the system on the RX450h. I am fine when I have an address to go to but if for example I want to go from Warrington to Salcombe with no particular address in mind how do I use the satnav? I have tried by zooming out on the map and clicking on the approximate location but this is a bit hit and miss. Can anyone help.

Enter the town name and a button appears at the right side of the town. Click this and the town is set as the destination. If there are several towns of the same name click LIST and all the towns appear with a button to each right side. Pick the town that you need and click the button.

I have used this method myself in my IS250 and it works fine.
