:P I like the VW Beetles (prefer the old ones though). Could quite fancy a short wheel based beach buggy in this weather....

<prepares to be shot down in flames>

im with claire on this one, like the new one as well :)

beach buggys great fun took one on caister beach, took it too near waters edge and it sunk

had to get local tractor to tow it out , he was laughing his head off as we supplied him with a load of dosh

worst thing of all went back the next year and did exactly the same, had to get same bloke out again :crybaby:

Drove about 300 miles in two days in one almost a year ago... it was only the 1.6 but was a nice drive. I think the old ones are a car that every petrol head would have in their collection. I am not sure about the new rag top. looks nice but why would I want it??

Its the kind of car I would not mind dating the sexy female owner of. but I suspect that most owners are not sexy or female. so sod that theory!!

Loz

Jonny boy, What are you not telling us..?

Oh and the girlfriend takes delivery of her brand new Beetle on 1st Sept, looks like another project is about to begin B)

Massive project that'll be trying to get the Beetle to look like a real car. didn't know anyone had managed to design a kit that would live up to such a difficult task ??

Mind you gotta give them respect, must cost a fortune to swap the hole chassis to make it look good....

Do they leave the flower pot in it ? Also known as a spitoon in the US market :D

I am sure a lot of you know that I am a huge VW Beetle fan so anybody who starts be warned. Oh and the girlfriend takes delivery of her brand new Beetle on 1st Sept, looks like another project is about to begin B)

used to work with a guy (Chris Chick) who was big into the VW scene - he had a really old camper that was his pride and joy - and really pee'd him off when I refused to park the IS next to it in case rust was contagious!:lol:

His girlfriend drag races a Beetle - I am sure I saw her on telly the other day, in a program about Volks World - she was in a car that was connected to sensors to measure reactions of the grid

That would be on Men & Motors then Mr McNally, I can't remember her name now. Seen her at the Pod a few times though.

yeah - might have been.

think her name is Tash or Tasha? presumably a shortened form of Natasha.

Chris reckoned she was quite fast- one of the reasons his van was rusty was because all the money went into her Beetle
