Motorway Mpg

Recommended Posts

That is pretty awesome, but what was it before you filled up, bearing in mind thats only over a 1/3 of a tank, presumably on the motorway. Was that on super unleaded or standard?

We managed 30.5mpg from Calais to Cologne. Sticking to the 120 and 130Km/h limits in france belgiun, and germany, with a few 140mph runs on the autobhan. We did get stuck in traffic round Brussels though which didn't help.

It was all motorway. Took it really easy, stayed between 60 and 70 with no hold ups. Started off with a full tank and filled up twice using standard fuel. According to google maps it was a thousand mile trip and I used 30 gallons so not using the on-board computer that works out at 33mpg average for the whole trip. Still pretty good for a 5Ltr V8!

Aye fantastic steve. i'm driving to south of France in August, hope to get similar results although we are driving on the way down through germany and Switzerland with a mountain pass or two so i'm guessing I won't get near that 36 until the return journey.

We went to the south of France a couple of years ago. Frejus? Or something like that. The next driving trip is Lake Como, about the same as south of France. For me the driving is the best bit of the holiday!

Just done a long, all motorway trip to Paris and back. Took it really easy just to see what the ISF can average. This isn't the norm!attachicon.gifIMG_1267.JPG

That is quite something for a 5ltr engine. I've just driven half way(ish) through France and on arrival at our gite I was showing 41mpg. Right now the roads over here are empty. No other Lexus seen on French roads so far.

You're right, hardly any Lexus in France or Italy as well. They seem to be all French/German with a few Fiats thrown in.

Remember seeing a Lexus dealership a couple of years back....somewhere around Chamonix.

Drew lots of admiring glances at a chateau car park today. Typical Frog attitude....pah pah pah eets not a Renault! Then as soon as I'm out of sight (or so they thought) they were gawping through the windows. The owner of our gite really likes it......even took him for a spin in it.
