Has anyone tried this product? It is supposed to add a permanent clear coat. I was initially thinking of getting myself a cleaning kit for the car but then I came across this. I was thinking that instead of buying some fancy cleaning products I just get my car professionally detailed and have this product applied to it.

In theory I would just need to rinse the car with shampoo every now and then to keep it clean. Sounds too good to be true to be honest.

Hi, I had this product applied on my car from new.

It’s a very good product, and a wash is all that’s needed, although
I do use a detailer spray to keep it in top condition.

If your thinking of putting it on your car you will need to
do a lot of preparation first for the best results. Its not a polish so you
need to strip all the old polish of, clay, re polish, then have Optimum opti-coat
2 applied.

Thanks wendle. I am not very confident about doing this myself. Did you do it yourself or did you get professional help?

I got my local detailing company to apply it, it wasn’t something
I fancied doing myself, its not the easiest stuff to work with. I got them to
go to the dealership and apply it before I took delivery.

If you fancy having a go yourself you could use “wolfs
chemical Hard Body” around £40 a bottle. Its very easy to apply and can be
layered.

You will still have to do some prep work, and although its
not quite as robust as Optimum its still a good product, , I used it on my old
GS with good results.

Thanks for your input wendle. I think I will have it done professionally.

I rang KDS today. http://www.kdskeltec.co.uk/

If I go for the 'Gold' option they want the car for at least five days. I think I will have to wait till it's a bit colder. Don't want to be without my car for 5 days in this nice weather.
