Hi

My doors aren't locking when the car gets going. There isn't a customisation setting to turn this on or off, but plenty of setting for auto unlock.

The dealer says it should be set as standard.

Any ideas?

The doors auto looking at 15 m.p.h feather has been removed
from the MK4, you can only program how you want the doors to open

Hmmm, that's daft. It's a great safety feature when travelling with the kids.

Thanks for the info,

If you want the doors locked for children can you not lock all doors from drivers door on the 450h or have rear doors not got the "child lock" feature to allow rear doors to only open from outside?

Yes but not a good safety feather if your involved in a accident

and the emergency services cant get into your car.

The manual says that doors unlock in the event of an accident.

Use of child locks is an option, so too is the door lock button, but I was told the car did it, so I expect it to do it.

I'll go back to the dealer and see what they come up with.

Cheers.

Does anyone know how to set a GS 2012-on to auto-lock?

As mentioned in the older posts, the feature is not in the menu on the 'nav' screen. There are many options for unlocking.

Thanks in advance!

Some of these options aren't available to tweak from the vehicles menus, a Techstream or dealer should be able to set which option you require.

You could also use Carista app with OBD dongle.

I took my GS to Lexus Glasgow so they can activate this option and they could not do it, it is impossible on this car he said, which is weird to me, Auto-lock is a good option to have!

Lexus have played with allowing or removing this feature over the years in Europe even when available in other markets on safety grounds. They are also inconsistent across different models, some having it and others not. The early series IV GSs don't allow it, but was reintroduced on the face-lift models.

It isn't just removed from being a user accessible setting, it is removed from the body software, so cannot be enabled with Techstream or Carista etc.

Thanks all. It's frustrating that it's not available. I expect its not disabled in South Africa!

LOL. No I assume they see the risk of being stuck in your vehicle in an accident as low compared to having your doors unlocked driving around Johannesburg.
