Not Just A Great Car But Useful!

Recommended Posts

Pleased to report the "estate" part of the car came in handy today as we
picked up some curtain poles that had been on order, the wife said "are
they going to go in?"...........split seat down and bingo!

Downside is it got bloody filthy in this sh*t weathericon_cry.gifcheesy%20smile.gif

Oh and I discovered I have electric folding mirrors by accident, as is my usual habit I folded the mirrors in when parking and normally flip them back out on my return, this time I forgot and got in the car turned the key and the mirrors popped out.....................I'm loving the car more and more, if only I could sort my reversing sensors out!

15 months on and I still look forward to driving it.. i some times take a longer route home just to enjoy it more :) .. its cool yours pops out when you turn the key might be a feature on the last models being an 05 as i have to activate mine manually by the mirrior button but its no biggie.. couldnt believe i managed to fit a mates apartments stuffs including a 40" plasma in the saloon version. well except his bed, fridge and washing machine...

Mine dont fold out after driving, ive been half way home and realised there still in lol. If I fold them in and take the key out and press the button they will fold out when i next turn the key.

As were talking about the intelligence of the intelligent sport i recently found out if you keep the car in N on the auto turn the engine off it wont let you take the key out! also if you have it in N and pull the handbrake up turn the engine off it wont let you take it off! its nuts!

thats an idea will try this tomorrow Petay and yeh if in N you wont be able to take the key out. nice safety feature to stop your car rolling if one forgets to activate the hand brake whilst in N and turn the engine off. it wont release the keys for you.

Yeah this car never ceases to amaze me. so well thought out. those japs are so clever lol I was also greatful for the warning when i started driving with my handbrake on the other day! lol

Yeah the mirror thing works, its not a idea, even though the switch is electronic is somehow remembers how many times its been pushed if you get me

The only gripes i have is why doesnt the interior light come on when you turn the engine off. I also hate that i my navi screen goes dim when i turn my lights on. If its raining and i have my side lights on its impossible to see in the day. Either give me the option to set manually or wire it up to my light sensor

When i moved my Brothers 37" TV i think the cardboard box marked the leather, not 100% if it was already there or not, but not going to risk trying to hauling stuff on the seats anymore i dont think. were yours ok?

btw your name is John not Noby then :msn-oh:

No button on mine so must be an 05 automatic feature.

And don't forgot u do have auto dimming mirror too its will come handy at night barneytt :)

Another plus added to the list, cheers Panya.

Obviously these cars continue to reveal little oddball, but neat tricks.

I guess the two things I would have liked on the car was inward/outward movement on the steering wheel to go with the rake adjustment and perhaps a dedicated lumber adjustment on the drivers seat but I suppose everyone has there own likes/dislikes and in fairness they are really well equiped.

the interior light would come on if the car is unlocked from outside or when door is opened when you set the switch to 'door open' option. I believe there are three modes, off - on - door open.

and my seats are all ok except the drivers side which has a penny size cut thanks to the sharp metallic buttons on my rear jeans.

Surely that's because you have it set to "night mode" isn't it. You could turn this off, but the screen will be bright at night. But it's only a couple of selections to reset it. If most of your travelling is in daylight, turn night mode off. Just a thought. That's what I did in mine when I had my is200.

I had a closer look at the mirror switches (eyesight isn't what it used to be!) and low and behold there is the little wing mirror button, so thanks to the people who mentioned said button as it was you that made me look a little closer B)

Hey Barney. Glad you're loving the SportCross. It is more like an estate, once you start using it as an estate. The wing mirrors are cool, I don't remember when I first realised they did that. . . Yes, if you have not pressed the button and put the mirrors in by hand, when you next put the key in the engine, they will automatically pop back out, but if you press the button before the engine is turned off, they will pull in. Turn the engine off and then press the button again, when you come back and put the key back in, it will appear that they open automatically again.
