Since getting my Sports grill for the amazing Gold group buy price I need to paint it

the paint guide says that my colour Aztec Fire is code 3n3, but the paint mixing system at Halfords calls it Red Mica for that paint code under Lexus. Is it the same colour? I noticed that was a colour option for the IS300 in the US.

Also as I chose to get my Grill in White, I plan to sand the plastic with 1200 grit wet and dry, primer it with red plastic primer, sand again, spray with the mixed paint then cover with clear lacquer. does that sound ok? Ive never painted anything before that has been this important to me lol.

thanks all :)

the paint code is all that matters, in different countries, the name of the paint can be different

Im hoping to carry on the saving by paiting it myself :)

Yes Bazza :)

you can have it in an 330ml aerosol or as a touch up stick and even in a tin so you can use your own spray equipment

it costs £8.99 for the spray.

Im tempted to buy 2 tins but if 1 is more than enough then i'll just do that!

Thanks Guys

Yeah I'll give it a go

I might do another guide to fitting the new style front illuminated scuff plates to the rear doors, lots of extra work involved in that little project :nuke::nuke::nuke:

I think it was a 400 ml can and I "got away with" one can. I'm not sure if more layers would have enhanced it though. I should have primed it really. Instead fo just sanding Daves gold paint off and getting it down to a grippy surface. then out to the shed for 10 minute layers till the can was empty. looks great at a glance and ok up close. could do with laquer... :whistling:

I'd put more than one coat of laquer on,and leave it

somewhere warm so it can bake on..............remember

several thin coats dont be to heavy.
