My First Lexus

I'm happy to report that I am finalising a purchase of my first ever Lexus - a '13 GS450h F-Sport in Mercury Gray with Mark Levinson audio. It's an ex-demo and I got a very strong deal. Whilst I may be approaching my 40th birthday, I don't think that this is a sign of ageing!

It was a challenge when comparing cars in this category, but I compared it to the Audi A7, BMW 535d, Merc E class and the Lexus won hands down on performance, luxury (with an excellent standard set of gadgetry), great service plans and friendly (not pushy) sales teams.

I hope that this is the start of a great journey.

I collect the car next Saturday and will no doubt be a regular visitor.

The Mark Levinson is very good. I was listening to Santana III today and it was utterly wonderful. OK, so I'm older than most (57) so many of you are no doubt thinking "what the heck is Santana 3rd album all about". Just listen to " batuka", or "no one to depend on" great tracks.

Anyway, here's the car - a few niggles:

Voice command is crap.

Sports seats aren't comfortable.

Can't set auto door locking (UK restrictions).

I'm in Wimborne but work near Three Legged Cross ( great place name don't you think? ). Makes me think of a Manx man bustin for a pee!

Give yourself time to get used to everything...early days yet.

Sports seat...is that the cloth type? They were fab in the is220d I had before.

Sports seats are red pitted leather (with comfort cooling) but wings are adjustable.
