Under the bank of flap releases and the bonnet catch I have a mystery switch. It's a round, black push button affair but it doesn't appear to do anything. I also have a strange looking nodule with a wire coming out of it stuck to my interior light surround. Can anyone shed some light on these?

Its to disable the ejector seat, The thing with the wire is to find it again, the second part to this is in the tool kit marked get wife to swallow.

could the wire and nodule thing up near the couretsy light be the remains of an aftermarket microphone from a hands free kit.

I have a round switch where you describe, and I did used to know what it was for. I thought it had something to do with the Smart key system.

On my Ls430, under the steering column i have a small round push button switch, it does activate / de-activate the smart key system.

Dunno if the Ls400 mk 4 had this feature installed, as for the wire nodule thing, i would go for a microphone, or whats left of one from a hands free kit.

Could it have anything to do with a leaky rear end? Mike

if any of the doors/boot/sunroof/windows etc are open when you lock the car the alarm will beep if the black button is in the out position.

(or at least thats what it does in my ls400 ! )

you need two presses second slightly longer beep .

I would like to know how to simply disarm the alarm sound on my Mk3 please guys ........... if anyone knows.
