The switch that changes the transmission mode from Power -> ECT -> Snow doesn't lock down in the Snow position, but it does in the Power position. When I switch to Power a tally light on the dash comes on to confirm, but pushing the switch in the Snow direction does nothing - the switch doesn't stay down, it just comes straight back to normal. Am I missing something obvious?

If memory serves me right that how it is - you should see "SNOW" LIGHT UP IN THE DASH

Perhaps it does and I just missed it - entirely possible! I will check - thank you for your help :-)

On my 98MY the switch when pressed into snow mode does lock down and the light turns on the dashboard so maybe it's not working on yours?

Does it work whichever drive mode you're in - you don't have to have one of the lower ratios selected?

Hi the snow mode on my 98 doesn't lock down it comes up on the dash. It works in drive I haven't tried it in lower ratios. It does really work well though.

Many thanks for that - I'll give it a try as soon as I get a chance. Maybe it has come up on the dash and I just haven't noticed!

I was being a numpty. The switch does not lock down, but SNOW does light up on the dash and the transmission characteristics are altered. Pushing the switch down to the snow position again toggles it off.
