Totally mad!!! just read the whole lot and just realised its a 6year old topic ! Im thinking mat should get an award for what must be the longest post ever! lol.

I remember the old carl sagan series cosmos back in the early 80s i think , anyway he proposed you could turn on a torch and travel so fast in a circle that you could arrive behind yourself before you turned it on! does anyone remember this ? he explained it in such a simple way it sounded plausible , to a non technical me anyway lol.

This is wrong- 'Energy is equivalent to mass as Einstein discovered (E = mc²) and therefore also has inertia'

The equation is to do with the conservation of energy, one of Newtons laws, energy cannot be created nor destroyed . Einstein's E = mc² or theory of relativity argues against this saying that energy could me created by multiplying a mass x the speed of light squared. For eg 1kg of Hydrogen x (300,000,000x300,000,000) = E ( a lot of energy!) Some evidence of this theory was seen during the first atomic bomb detonation.
