Fuel Lines Routing

Hi All,

I'm new here; bought my baby a week ago. IS200; year 2001. I have a misfire problem with it when the engine is warm. It's not a plug, neither the coil. I found a thread here, by which I could learn the way to test the injectors (measuring the resistance), so it turned out to be faulty (cylinder #2). I have removed it already (just waiting for the used one from Ebay), but I could only do it by lifting the fuel rail just enough, because it is still held down by the fuel line with the banjo-end. Even though I took the bolt (with the pressure damper) out, the line still doesn't move enough to let the rail go. There must be a bracket holding it in place somewhere down by the firewall, which I can't even see, let alone reach it... I'm just wondering what else I should have taken off to get to it, if I really had to take the whole rail off for, say injector 6? (You never know when the others **** themselves...)

I tried to take the inlet off, but it's again held in place by bolts at places I have no idea of... :(

Is there anybody around here who has taken the fuel system apart?

Cheers,

Joe

  • 2 weeks later...

Thanks again, mate! At last I received the injector. Yesterday I put it in, and it runs smooth as!!! :) I only left one piece out... It's an alloy bracket with 2 mounting points, but I just couldn't recall where I took it off... Grrr.

Anyway the car doesn't seem to be missing it... :)
