Rhythmic Thumping Noise With Vibration Feels Like Coming From Front Of

I have got 2005, RX400h, 55k on the clock with full dealer service history.

Within last 5 weeks it started making rhythmic thumping noise coming from front offside and slight vibration. It generally comes on near 40mph. The rhythm changes in correlation with the speed. Bends, turnings and breaking do not make any impact to the noise or vibration levels. Happens on and off as I drive. It seems to come on certain road surfaces and when the road surface changes or if I turn off into different road it stops. Always comes on A34 from Oxford to M40 stretch! Lately vibration and noise been increased when happens.

Car got all 4 new tyres, Yokohama Geolandar SUV 235/55 R18 100V, replaced about a year ago. I have checked my tyres and wheels they all seem ok.

It is booked in for tomorrow with Lexus Cheltenham for diagnosis. I’ll post the outcome of that tomorrow. (Not a big bill I hope!)

I just wandered if anyone had same or similar experience with their RX400h.

This was due to front offside break calliper fault. it also damaged the cast. All being replaced by the dealer for £620
