I was reading a traders view on flushing the engine before he sells a car, but i was told by a mechanic thst its not a good idea , i intend to do the nxt service myself and was goinv to do a overnight drain.But should i flush ?

Don't bother. If you're dying to flush then get some real cheap Halfords own brand oil, chuck that in, run the engine for 5 minutes and drain that out then fill with the good stuff.

There really is no need to perform an engine flush, there never has been and never will be.

If when you drain the old oil out it should be near enough the same colour as it went in. (that's the case with mine) So you should have no carbon deposits inside the engine so no need to flush. If the oil is black then some cheap oil a run & then change to the good oil.
