Seems both my rather new Pirelli tyres are scrubbing badly on the inside. icon_eek.gif

Is this common?

Yes Ray unfortunatly this is very common.

It's a long story and there are many threads on this but basically Lexus geometry/camber set up is rubbish. It causes front wheel inner tyre wear as your pics show. I questioned Lexus Bristol about this...they say the set up is for comfort, fuel economy, handling etc and you "shouldn't" see significant inner tyre wear but we all do! basically a load of BS!

A company called Wheels In Motion took up the challenge of setting the car up to avoid inner tyre wear that Lexus are pretty much saying is unavoidable. They were very succesful and a lot of members, myself included have had their car geometry set up done there. it's worth the trip to see them however far away you live as they will cure this inner tyre wear 100% and your car will feel tighter and more responsive and just as smooth and comfortable. Mine felt like a different car honestly.

yeap it is common with the factory settings and standatd suspension

Also check the tyre pressures, I was told by the Lexus dealer to inflate them a bit more 1-2PSIs to keep them better...

I would also say go to WIM and have the car alligned all around

Cheers guys,

Just Googled WIM and it's a 5.5 - 6 hour round trip (equals 2 new tyres and 90 quid in fuel) :whistling:

How long does it take to set this up as I'm driving down that way to catch a ferry to Holland later this summer?

Hmmm, I may look into having that done as well, if it is such a common problem, I wouldnt want to put my summer tyres and rims on, then find that I need to replace them early.

It took me 2 hrs trip each way and it took them about 45mins to 1hr and the car was sorted :)

Ofcourse I would say call them to book prior. :)

Forgive me for asking, but how much did it cost?

Last time I was there about £150 or less I can't really quite remember. Not expensive tho for what you save in tyres and worth every penny :)

Thanks again Chris.
