Can anyone shed some light on this? If you look on eBay there are 3 different bonnet struts for the LS, covering different periods. The company below list them from 93 on. I phoned to check and they say they will fit all models including mine which is a MK4, is that correct?

Thanks

Phil

If you check the thread above, you'll see that a lot of members have ordered from them, seemingly with good results.

I got mine from them, and they fit my MKIV 99(V) perfectly.

OK, thanks for that. I did search the forum but I got confused because when you go to struts direct it then takes you to what seems like another website, car gas struts, which made me think it was a different company. Thanks again, I'll get them ordered.

I've ordered mine from this company and it was a simple fit. They work perfectly.

Well yours will be the same as mine so that's good. On my previous LS the sruts would hold up sometimes, but one day the bonnet came crashing down with the corner hitting my head, nearly knocked me out!

I had the same. temp dependant, on warm days they had enough pressure and cold they didint.

i used struts direct. the ones that came were slightly shorter than the originals but they work fine. the bonnet sits very slightly lower. not restricting access though.

SGS engineering in Derby can regas your originals and can work out cheaper than buying new. Ive just used them to do some kitchen cabinet struts. only a few weeks old so too early to know how well they will hold their charge long term. but something for you to consider.

Thanks for that but I did order them from car gas struts which apparently quite a few on this forum have done. With delivery they were £39 for the pair. They are the same length although I noticed the steel rod was thinner. Still, they fit and hold the bonnet up so hopefully they'll be OK.
