Exhaust For Gs300

HI EVERYONE.. I AM THE PROUD OWNER OF A 1999 (T) GS300.. AND I WAS LED TO BELIEVE THAT THE CAR WAS FITTED WITH A STAINLESS STEEL EXHAUST, WITH A LIFETIME WARRANTY, BUT TODAY MINE BROKE... THE LONG PIPE ON THE DRIVERS SIDE HAS BROKEN IN TWO, SO WERE DO I TAKE IT TO GET IT REPAIRED.. PLEASE HELP AS I AM A DISABLED DRIVER AND MY CAR IS MY ONLY TRANSPORT.. MANY THANKS.. DAVID..

If it is repairable, then I would think most exhaust places should be able to do something with it.

Can you ID the broken pipe on the diagrams below?

I would've thought that would be repairable.

From Lexus it should be around £360 for the centre section, not sure what kwikfit and the like would charge.

Hi I live in West Dorset & also disabled. Provided your insurance covers you or you can sort out insurance for yourself I can lend you a GS300 until yours is fixed & provided its for no more than a week I don't expect any payment

To add I'm not being entirely ultruistic At the moment its not being used & is just standing around so your using it would be a help as the Lexus is a car that needs to be used

I also know a local garage who can undertake your repair They've already done the same for me on my GS300

That's a very kind offer to make to a fellow member.

I think what happens is that the exhausts are stainless steel but the flanges are mild steel and therefore they rot around the welds and therefore break.

With the price of the centre piece alone you could also consider have a custom made cat back system made for around £300-400 they are always being advertised on eBay.

I COULD GO ON, AND ON.. INFACT IF YOU GO TO HIS WEB SITE AND LOOK ON THE GALLERY YOU WILL SEE MANY PHOTOS OF MY RED LEXUS, WELL HE SAID HE HAD A FRIEND.. Good result, most exhaust issues can be fixed with a welder if need be.
