Hello,I have always been interested in the IS200 and will be looking to buy one in February.I am sorry I have not actually got one yet and then registered - but I really wanted to be in contact with some actual owners to get some ideas of what to look for or avoid!! I have done a small amount of research and my main reason for joining is the read through threads and gather info. Just felt it was rude to lurk in the background without introducing myself :)

Hello and welcome to the LOC.

No problem joining before you buy, infact you've done it the right way around by doing your background research into the car before buying one, it's usually a new member who has already bought one, discover problems and then joins.

There is plenty of information on the forums, the search function works well for research and you may even find another member with a car for sale. :D

Welcome to the forum! I did the same as you about 6 months ago. I ended up buying a older LS400 and I've loved owning it. Having owned a wide variety of cars, I'm just a bit sad it took me until my 43rd year to discover Lexus!

Thank you for welcome and advice.I shall be spending some time reading!The biggest negative i can see is the MPG - but balancing that with me riding a motorbike for 8 months of the year and the fact that the Lexus is strong and well bolted together, this does not seem such an issue for me.My wife was recently in a head on collision and this is also playing a factor in being in a solid car! rgds Ian/Bluesun

Dont let the mpg put you off, not as bad as some say my is200 auto is comparable if not better then the old vectra 2.0 i had....
