No Electrics And Car Won't Start

i have a 2007 lexus is220d and yesterday i drove to work, about a 40 mile trip, parked up then at lunch time i went down the road and came back. when i finished work i disarmed the alarm got in the car but then the car would'nt start and there is no electrics working now, no interior lights headlights etc. the AA were called they done all the obvious things like checking the Battery but there was over 12 volts on the reading and i was told the Battery is fine.

Has anyone ever come across this problem? or is there a fuse that controls the electrics for the entire car? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

This thread might help. It was a bad earth connection apparently.
