I had to hire a Jetta to go to Cardiff yesterday, and whilst it wasn't a patch on the 430, in one respect it was more comfortable. It had seats which stopped me rolling around. I think the LS seats are designed for 'big' execs, so if you are normal sized the seat is too flat. Does anyone know of any kind of seat cover that might have sort of wings that would fit over the standard seat?

Get some velcro and stick one part to the seats and the other to your trousers, that will stop you sliding around and make a nice ripping sound as it seperates when you get out of the car

I must admit my seats are shiney but I 've never had a problem sliding around, the other half does but I find that amusing.

Seriously the problem will be finding some nice quality covers in the right colour that look good in a Lexus.

I remember (just) having some black PVC "Rally seat covers" in a MK1 Ford Escort but that was an Escort ( wish I still had it though)

Just thought Mike you will have side airbags so may not be able to fit covers anyway?

ah yes - that may be a problem. Just when I realised I had a solution - there's an auto trimmer in Dormandstown (Redcar) that has done some great work on motorbike seats, and I think he would be able to make some 'wings for the shoulders and thigh areas of the driver's eat.

As it happens, although the seats in my Mk1V are much more comfortable than the Mk2, I find the seats in my Vauxhall Vectra much better on very long trips (but that's all that's better!) so maybe the Velcro idea is your best option!!
