Hi Fellow Lexuns

Got my new Mark 4 in the test this morning goes without saying the fly through was inevitable. But my friendly MOT tester who is also a petrol head brought my attention to a vunerable area on the body just forward of the rear wheel at the jacking point. On closer inspection this metal work on the area about 9 inches long X 4inches wide that the oblong rubber bung sits in is not factory undersealed and just painted in body paint. The welds to the floor panel sides are just showing a bit of rust and he says this seems to be a common fault on the ls400 as if the exclusion of under seal is deliberate due to some build process.Having done the subframe with dinitrol I will now be putting a liberal cover on this area and sending The MoT petrolhead a xmas card.

Good piece of information,I check my underbody regularly but will pay particular attention to the area you mention.

The only other areas of rust I have seen on some less cared for examples apart from poor accident repair are the rear wheelarches due to the build up of mud inside the edge of the arch, front arches, same reason and along the top of the windscreen possibly due to poor sealing/water ingress.
