Try first video now, they are all in sync when in normal use but the flashing's a bit random on the arm / dis-arm with the remote.

But at least i get a visual reference for arm / dis-arm as i was expecting not to have any at all.

Hey, I'm currently doing the LED light conversion too, but im having problems.

I connected a blue LED strip in my boot to replace the T10 Wedge and I believe that the LED strip is 3W 12V. The LED strip worked but then i unplugged it so i could I mount it. But now I can't seem to get it working again, I tried connecting the original T10 Wedge bulb and it doesn't work.

In addition my DOME light and MAP light don't work anymore either. But my glovebox, dash & headlights still work fine.

It seems i've shorted the circuit, any ideas on how to fix this?

its strange your LEDs would blow a fuse, never heard of that before. i had seen some listings of LED panels etc that are different voltages so just check, but most are standard 12v. Only my door marker LEDs have arrived so far, not sure why someone said they dont make a difference, they are much brighter and look much better. Jomo I think i will invest in the LED strips instead of using panels, thanks for info. btw havent ordered those strips, just wondered if thats what you got, but can see the difference. I order a small 12 LED panel that fits snugly into a small groove in the door frame toward the front, but i ended up using them in the markers as they fitted better than the 6 LED panel I was originally going to use. Will get some pics up when complete.

  • 4 weeks later...

Iv just completed my full LED light conversion and was about to take pics for the LOC when on replacing the final bulb I blew my fuse!

The fuse is rated at 7.5a and im guessing ive exeeded that, do you think it would do any harm to put a 10a in?

LOL, thats just a photo shopped pic off the net.

These are the type i bought for both puddle lights and the red door adge.

Their sticky backed so no glue or ties needed.

The ones youve odreded will most likely catch the sill, as trheir about 4 times the hight...

Well Jomo i bought the exact same LED strip as you and just fit it and blew my fuse! I wired it by combining the door markers and then feeding the LED strip into the same wires.... is this how you did it? Im guessing by adding additional lights I have exeeded the 7.5 amps the fuse goes up to.... how did you wire them in?

All i did was connect then up the the red door makers, i did change the red door markers to leds also, so this could be why the fuse blew but i dought it would have blowen just by adding the leds!

Did you test the leds before you fitted them as i bought loads of sets and the come wrongly wired up (red - / black +) i'd check they work off the car with a spare car batt or some other 12v power supply just to be sure.

Replaced fuse wirh 10a. All good now. Seem to be wired up correct. I have replaced all lights to LED so 7.5a prob not enough. I mean ive got 3x 42 panels, 4x 6 leds in vanity and markers and now these. All adds up I guess! But yeah look awesome under doors dont they. Thx for input!

My calculations were correct and it fits like a glove.

Looks a bit chavy from this angle, however you never actually see the lights unless you try too and just lights the floor beautifully at night.

Doesnt look that bright in the picture, but it is much brighter than the stock bulb especially at night

Fits like a glove due to all my pre measuring!

My cars boot light was missing all together so just wired up a panel. the light spread is excellent and give amazing light output at night.

The first LEDs i bought didnt fit because the base that slides into the bulb holder was all plastic. I had to buy the bare type much like the orginal bulbs are. I also had to get 360 degree bulbs because the IS bulb holder is on a weird angle. They are very bright, almost too bright, as ive noticed new cars with stock LED number plate lights are fairly suttle

Hard to mount a panel that doesnt move in this, so used some foam. This panel are stupidly bright and almost blinding at night, im thinking of maybe wiring up 2x little 6 LED panels and positon them in the clear lense part of the cover

i used some of my own double sides foam tape for this as the one it came with was rubbish. fits nicely in there and looks soo good at night when you unlock the car. Found the panel a little blue'er than i thought it would be, but it was cheap after all.

Nice bit of mood lighting. I took out the ash tray permanently and layered carbon fibre paper. The LED light looks nice at night

The side light bulb holders are on a angle, so you get a nice beam if you look from the side. This is prob for the best because pointing forward would seriously blind drivers, they are super bright and looks awesome. the fogs dont work in the same way tho, even tho you'd think with 2x lenses from the fogs and bulbs it would be intense, but its not. The fogs are designed for a bulb with a 360 degree light angle. However if you dont use your fogs much its better to have something a little less bright and can be used for DRL purposes. If you want something even brighter than a Q5 diode check out the new T6

You shouldn't be blowing fuses having replaced bulbs with LED by rights. LEDs consume a lot less power. Or have you added a substantial amount more?

I realised this yesterday. When i cut the wires for the door markers i did them both at the same time. I most likely shorted the circuit out! :iraqi-info-minister:

im gonna try 7.5a fuse again
