Hesitation From 220D-Help Diagnosis

Recommended Posts

I have had my 220d for 1.5 years with no problems.

I'm well aware of its flat spot untill the revs get above 1800rpm's but I have never found this to be too much of a problem untill now.

In the last couple of weeks it feels much more sluggish than Ive ever noticed before.

This is only noticeable on inclines-hills. I can drop a couple of gears and all is fine but this was not necessary before. It never had great power up hill at low revs but it would pull itself up ok none the less.

Now, particularly in fifth gear on inclines im getting a hesitsation, kind of stuttering on and off.

Again, changing down a gear will cure it but the car just feels a little under powered to normal.

I did clean the EGR out about 14 months ago and will do so agaim this weekend.

Im also going to run some BG244 through the fuel tank.

The engine has done 35,000 since being rebuilt at Lexus for the recall problems.

It had all the pistons etc replace and fith injector and other associated mods.

As yet, no lights have come on with this problem.

Does anyone have any other tips to look at at the weekend whilst Im cleaning things up.

Carl
