Hello guys,

At last yesterday spent a whole day with a friend and did the following ..

Changed the springs

Changed disks and pads

Painted calipers

Unseized calipers and pins

Now ... since removing the front shocks... and put them back together ... while the car was on the air (the front of it) I started the engine to press the brake pedal to make sure everything is settles with the brakes.

However the VSC, ABS, TC Off light were on I assume they will go away once the car settles on ground or it does a mile or so...

Wrong assumption for me

Today and the lights are still on.

I managed to remove one of the ABS sensors on the front and clean it wih break cleaner...

the other one on the front whould not shift... seems to have stuck in :(

The lights are sstill on.

I have plugged in my OBDII adaptor and on my laptop ... but it cannot find any fault codes.

Any advice? :( :(

Most likely one or more of the abs sensor wiring looms are jjiggered mate. Happened to me on my GS430 when doing the replacement springs. Still need to get the codes scanned (the cheap DIY ones don't do the abs ecu) so that I can buy a replacement sensor. It is one or both on the front for mine.

They are expensive :( :(

Is there a way I can test the cable? like with a Volt-meter or something similar? so I can repair it?

No idea mate. Worth a go I guess, nothing lost if it doesn't work. They are expensive, which is a pain. On my Corrado, they can be got for £7 each, for the Lexus, £130 each :(

  • 1 month later...

Well I got it sorted today, I repaired the cabling... and siliconed etc .. .to stop any water going in with the solderings etc. tested with the voltometer and it seemed to be OK. But the car would still have the lights on...

I think the sensor got damaged internally from the hammering to try to get it unstuck!!

So I went to the local scrapyard today and they had a Jap Spec IS200 ... got the passenger sensor I needed for £20.

I went to fit it on my IS300 and it would NOT fit!!! AARRGGGG I got fed up with the thing ... lol there is a place to hold in place the rubber ring on the sensor, my IS is not designed for this type of sensor ... so it will not go in all the way.

I got my stanley knife and shaved off all this plastic rings and remove the rubber ring seal.

I installed it ... bolted everything... and presto!!!

worked like a dream after 100 yards all the lights went off! :D :D :D :D
