Key Fob Not Working

I've only got 1 key with car. It's the main key with 3 buttons but circuit board damaged so resorted to locking with key. This means no alarm set! Can I by a key of eBay and reprogram it. Or what is best way to keep cost down

Sorry no, you need a working original master key ( 3 button one) to allow you to programme additional fobs, without this it means a new alarm ECU plus key set.

It would be cheaper to have an approved aftermarket alarm fitted.

The key is the master key and works its just circuit board to unlock doors remotely not working due to damage and no buttons on board. I want a spare key and to have new circuit board for remote locking

Was quoted £160 for new master key from lexus Bolton . Said I need to send logbook then go 3 days later when they have key in for programming to car!

I'd give that a go first, as it's a lot cheaper than new ECU's and locks etc. However, you may find you need a fully working key (ie, not just the transponder, but working buttons on the remote too) to programme the key, as it's done by a button press sequence (and pedal-dancing) procedure. However, Lexus may just be able to do it all via a computer, eliminating that part, so fingers crossed they'll get you a new fully working key.

For the sake of it, I'd get them to do two keys, so at least you have a spare.

£160 wow that's a great deal (than changing the ECU) what they will be doing "re-flash" the ECU?

Thought I'd just get the one and keep current as spare as got other issues to sort and find yet!
