Is that filter not better than the original?

A new concept oil filter which improves oil pressure drop and flow properties by approximately 30% compared to current sports oil filters. Large diameter "Super Intake Hole" and newly developed low resistance hybrid filter allows for low pressure loss. Engine response is improved by reducing the load on the engine.

Most sports oil filters are assumed to use high viscosity oil and therefore filter paper strength is prioritized whilst sacrificing absolute pressure loss properties. HKS Hybrid Sports Oil Filter has readdressed filter strength and overall structure to provide the oil flow that the engine requires and pursue HKS' ideals in what is required from a sports oil filter.

No, for example them claiming the hole being bigger, how can it be it's the same screw thread as the standard one, it has to be.

Stick with oem.

The OEM filter is more than good enough with plenty of spare flow capacity. With modern engines and oils,the filter has very little to do anyway. The posh magnet is not a lot of use because most of the particles which appear are non-magnetic anyway, and those that are magnetic are trapped by the sump plug. All in all, harmless but pointless to fit this unless it costs more.

The diagram isn't correct. . . .

the intake hole(s) are the triangular ones, the round one is feed to the engine.

it even says in the description that they are 'a unique pic shape'

even so, i'd still go for the standard one for a road car.

No point in waisting your money on an "Upgrade" oil filter, when the original one is more than sufficient.
