New Battery Help Please.

I need a new Battery for my LS400 Mk4 and am at a complete loss to understand the flaw in my plan to buy one. I do hope someone can advise please ?

After typing in my registration number and model details, all of the websites I use seem to recommend a 306mm length Battery .............a Bosch S4 for example. Yet when I look at the Battery tray in my car, it is only built for a 270mm Battery I guess. Has someone changed the tray at some point do you think, or where can I get a new Battery that is about 270mm long to fit my Lexus ?

Many members on here replace batteries directly from Toyota / Lexus. They seem to be doing good deals on them at the moment.

You'll be lucky maybe and get them to fit for free too .... I wasn't, a 5 minute job and they wanted £60 !! didn't pay of course.

But they certainly supplied me with a good value original Toyota Battery that actually FITS.

I went straight to Lexus Bought, Installed, Free Coffee, Newspaper, Sky New,s and a very pretty and attentive receptionist for £70.

Almost makes you want the Battery to fail just to experience all the above.

Toyota dealer for me about £70. No brainer to use Toyota or Lexus as they fit correctly are the correct amp hours etc, oh yes they are cheaper too.

My mechanic ordered a Bosch Battery for me because he said it was the best, but when it arrived it was too for long for the tray in the engine compartment. So it seems unlikely that your tray has been changed.

I always use Eurocarparts and only buy Varta batteries far superior to Bosch in my opinion though that is based on experience with my old GS300.
