Is this the one that is connected to the part of the front/rear suspension?

If so I had the same issue on the front one on my IS300. Stripped down and cleaned, been fine ever since. 30 mins max to do.

Mine went faulty in the summer, Lexus replaced and fitted it at the cost of £413.00

Works fine now but what a cost.

Reading this worries me. I keep this ON all the time and it works so far. I never thought that this is having a link to the suspension. Does this pack up fast? I have done 39000KM on my RX400h.

Just read Arjuna's comment that says he keeps the self levelling switched on in his 400h, I've got the same car,2009, where is the switch located ?

To my knowledge this cannot be switched on / off.

The only switch is the AFS one which allows you to switch off the swivelling function. The only time I have ever needed to switch AFS off was when travelling on the continent so as to not blind traffic coming the other way.

It is best to give the control arm linkage a bit of a lube every year or so. I see more failures reported on the LS vehicle rather than RX where they seize up and then break.

The self levelling system is on all vehicles with factory fit HID headlights. It cannot be switched off. I think Arjuna misunderstood and confused this with AFS.

I think I have worked out how to adjust the height of the dipped beam HID lights. If I lengthen the link between the potentiometer and the suspension I think that should do it. I have done it about 2 turns and will see what difference it makes. The bolt was pretty stiff to turn so I assume the ends have friction threads.

I have a 07 400h, Has anyone got a video of where it is exactly, it sounds like an easy fix, but I don’t know where to start!
